Arc 3: Part 5
The fire didn't touch 666, yet the surrounding air temperature rapidly increased. Tong Su, linked by blood to the bird, remained unharmed. Even so, she felt the temperature must have reached several thousand degrees for a moment!
Was this just a casual breath from it?
Such power was astonishing!
【Miss you, don't panic. In a world of cultivators, talking about science is the most unscientific thing!】 666 comforted her, 【Foundation builders can fly with swords, Golden Core cultivators can move through the air, while Nascent Soul cultivators can move mountains and seas. Deities can understand the void... A little fire bird is not that special.】
Despite saying this, 666 was slightly uneasy internally, but Tong Su accepted it calmly.
"It's true. It is the spirit of the Golden Crow Fire. The stronger it is, the stronger I will be, which is a good thing."
Most importantly, with this Golden Crow Fire, a trace of spiritual energy finally started to move in Tong Su's dried up meridians. This energy allowed her to open her Qiankun bag for storage. (Note: A Qiankun bag is a pouch that can hold more than it appears to be able to carry. It is used by cultivators to carry large items.)
Of course, without a spiritual root, she still couldn't cultivate.
Using the game terminology from Tong Su's previous life to explain her current situation, she had lost all her level, experience, and skills, only the storage bag could be opened for use.
Tong Su pulled out a cloak to put on, covering the tattered clothes on her back. She prepared to find a sheltered place to change into a new outfit.
For some unknown reason, Feng Yin Yue hadn’t taken her Qiankun bag. Tong Su understood the cultivator world's tradition of killing for loot, but she had already shoved the Qiankun bag into the storage space from the newbie package at the first opportunity.
The storage space was permanent and could be utilized in any world, making it an excellent tool for inter-world smuggling and selling. However, its capacity was limited, with only a cubic foot of space.
Now, it could perfectly fit a Qiankun bag.
The Ten-thousand Ghosts Demon Cave wasn't far from Ziwei Heavenly Palace. Tong Su could already see the entrance shrouded in demonic energy from afar.
It appeared as a long abyss, abruptly carved like a scar on the vast, endless snow plain. The abyss was pitch black, with heavy clouds of gray and black demonic mist around it. It was impossible to tell the depth or what lay on the other side of it.
Even a few miles away, one could hear the terrifying howls coming from the demons and spirits within the abyss. The shrill, chilling cries echoed in the ears, affecting the heartbeat as well.
Tong Su, devoid of her cultivation now, was increasingly finding it difficult to breathe. The little fire bird, worriedly chirping, spat out a fireball surrounding her and dissipating the surrounding demonic energy. Her breathing then returned to normal.
"Thank you," she gently stroked the bird's feathers. The little firebird chirped excitedly and bounced around.
Around the edge of the Ten-thousand Ghosts Demon Cave, there were numerous remnants of magic, an aftermath of the great battle fought a few days ago by the Ziwei Heavenly Palace to subdue Tian Xuanzi.
Water rushed, wind swept, lightning struck, fire burned… The ground was scarred with deep pits, and an eerie gloominess emanated when one approached.
Further away, there was an enormous scorched sword mark— nearly 300 feet long and roughly 24 feet wide. Spiderweb-like cracks spread around it for several yards. It appeared like a ground fissure, scorching and cracking open the snowy plains.
"One sword breaks through the heavens, the sunset scorching the vast hills."
That was the trace of the Chi Ming sword, resounding through the righteous path!
"Senior brother? Senior Brother? Ah Tong is here, please say something to Ah Tong!"
She carefully approached the edge of the abyss, walking and calling out to Tian Xuanzi each step she took.
With each step closer to the depth, the demonic wind became increasingly sharp. A few miles away from the abyss, she could not venture any further.
Tong Su became increasingly worried.
It was so terrifying on the outskirts, how would Tian Xuanzi, who had been cast down into the depths of the abyss, fare?
"Miss, shouting here, the Demon Lord would still have difficulty hearing you. Please do not venture further in!"
