Arc 3: Part 4
The Ziwei Heavenly Palace was the leader of the righteous path. In order to maintain their reputation as a beacon of righteousness, they had, of course, to suppress demonic entities. As such, their sect was built close to the Ten-thousand Ghosts Demon Cave.
"I'm headed to the Ten-thousand Ghosts Demon Cave," Tong Su declared solemnly.
According to the series of events in this world, the pursuit team from the Ziwei Heavenly Palace would be arriving soon. The white, snow-covered northern wilderness made escaping in her current condition virtually impossible.
Resolute determination flashed in Tong Su's eyes.
Now, to save herself, she was bound to take an unorthodox route!
"Also, 666, I want to use the talent card and weapon voucher."
Tong Su was grateful she had brought a few items with her when she entered this world. If she had come empty-handed, she probably wouldn't have lasted long before failing the mission.
Despite 666 advising her against going, Tong Su remained adamant. Left with no other choice, 666 warned:【Alright, but please be careful, Miss. Even if you fall in, there won't be too much danger.】
While fetching the items Tong Su asked for, it suggested: 【By the way, do you want to use the weapon voucher and talent card together? There's a high chance they'll resonate and produce a synergistic effect!】
A thought crossed Tong Su's mind, "Can I?"
【Ta-da! The talent-weapon combo pack is now in use!】
A dazzling display of red, yellow, blue, and green lights flickered, the opening light effects of the game loot box that 666 was obsessed with.
Tong Su waited until the special effects were finished. She watched as two clear flashes of light descended from the sky, merging into her body.
Almost instantly, she felt a heat spreading throughout her body, a warm current flowing from her dantian to her extremities.
The heavy sense of weakness within her was dispelled, and the bone-chilling cold of the tundra vanished. She felt pleasantly warm all over.
There was a burning sensation in Tong Su's palm as if something wanted to come out. It seemed synergized with her heartbeat and blood circulation. Unconsciously, she raised her hand and lightly opened her palm.
With a soft puff—
A golden-red flame appeared out of thin air!
It seemed as if the temperature of the surrounding air had risen. The drifting snowflakes flustered and avoided this region. The air was heated till it distorted.
Yet, Tong Su had an inexplicable feeling—this terrifying, powerful flame would absolutely not harm her!
The flame moved as if it was sentient. It wriggled and quickly transformed into a three-legged fire bird about the size of a walnut. With red feathers and golden wings, it looked chubby and round, both beautiful and adorable.
It rolled around in her palm and snuggled into her fingers playfully. With a flap of its wings, it conjured a small palm-sized, pitch-black cauldron from the air. It jumped on top of it and opened its mouth towards Tong Su.
"Squeak."
How can it be this cute!
Tong Su's eyes sparkled as she watched it, her heart completely melted!
She delicately held it close to her cheek, only for the little fire bird to pounce forward and plant a solid kiss on her lips!
Tong Su was stunned.
Having done its deed, the little fire bird scurried away, abandoning the little cauldron. It waddled up towards her shoulder—
Ahem, sorry, the little fire bird was too chubby. It couldn't fly with its small wings.
【Congratulations Miss for obtaining: Innate Spiritual Fire 'Golden Crow Fire', and weapon artifact 'Li Huo Cauldron'! The usage limit is in this world, please accept~】
666 flew over with great enthusiasm, rubbing its hands together, planning to touch the little fire bird. However, as if aware of something, the little fire bird suddenly spat out a jet of golden-red flames!
【Ah, it almost burned me!】 666 swiftly dodged the attack, still in shock. 【Can it see me? It shouldn't be able to. In the task world, only you, Miss, should be able to see me...】
The fire bird, however, instantly retracted its fierce appearance and transformed back into its adorable, obedient mannerism. It waggled its head as it laid on Tong Su's shoulder.
Tong Su and 666 exchanged looks, their expressions somewhat startled.
