Boss-gege Excessive Spoiling - Chapter 148

Arc 3: Part 6

"Don't mention this far distance, there's so much noise from the spirits and the fierce wind. Your voice can’t reach it! Instead, the people of Ziwei Palace are patrolling here. Don't attract their attention..."

As the voice trailed, Tong Su’s body swayed, as though she couldn’t keep herself upright, and knelt on the ground. However, a faint smile crossed her downcast face.

"I'm shouting, not necessarily for Tian Xuanzi to hear."

Just as her words landed, several beams of light flashed rapidly in the distant sky. They were a dozen sword-bearing cultivators who wore cold and angry faces and yelled,

"Traitor Bai Tong of Jing Yang Peak, suspected colluding with the Demon Cultivators. Your crimes are grave. Don’t attempt to escape, surrender immediately!"

Tong Su did not look back. She was still persistently standing up and continuing her walk towards the Ten-thousand Ghosts Demon Cave.

Before entering the Ten-thousand Ghosts Demon Cave, she was surrounded by the pervasive demon aura. Like chains, it wrapped around her limbs and cruelly invaded her body through her pores.

The little firebird struggled to spit fire to protect her. However, the demon aura was cunning. Some evaded the little firebird and fiercely collided with Tong Su's body!

"Bai Tong, I told you to stand still. Did you hear me? You dare to walk into Ten-thousand Ghosts Demon Cave with your foundation stage cultivation strength? Before you see Immortal Lord Jing Yang, you'll be corroded away by the demon aura!"

The approaching disciple of Ziwei Palace had a livid expression. He was forced to stop before the range of the demon aura and roared at Tong Su with fury.

The Ten-thousand Ghosts Demon Cave is a unique place where cultivators with higher cultivation levels suffer more from the backlash of the demonic aura. The more spiritual aura you've guarding your body, the greater the damage the demonic aura brings to you.

On the other hand, if you disperse protective spiritual power, the fierce demonic aura, once it grazes your bare skin, will cause unbearable stinging pain, as though you've been ruthlessly whipped.

Tong Su struggled a few times, unable to stay upright. With her limbs trembling and faltering, she still strove to crawl forward.

Her spiritual root was taken, her cultivation level was abolished. Now, without any spiritual power to guard her body, her skin was being corroded by the opportunistic demonic aura, presenting streaks of red and swollen bloody marks.

Her fingers clawed into the snow filled with the demonic aura. Before she had crawled far, her fingertips were already bleeding profusely.

The crowd of disciples watched, anguished and angry, but when they took a step forward, they felt a fiery pain on their skin.

They quickly retreated, relieved they hadn't been injured. At this point, they were unwilling to step any further into the Ten-thousand Ghosts Demon Cave.

Someone resentmently said, "This damned girl! Let's just leave her be. She'll die sooner or later in there. I don't want to enter this haunted place, the corrosion from the demonic aura hurts too much."

"Wait, look at that little firebird on her shoulder," an eagle-eyed disciple said greedily. "It can burn the demonic aura. It must be something good, probably given by Immortal Lord Jing Yang. If we can get it..."

Their eyes lit up, and expressions softened as they called out in a worried tone, "Junior Sister Bai Tong, please come back soon!"

"Immortal Lord Jing Yang has already fallen into demonic ways and become a traitor. He's a criminal whose crimes cannot be pardoned. He won't recognize you. If he sees you, he will kill you!"

"Senior Brother is innocent!" The little girl drenched in blood finally turned her head. Her eyes were sparkling brightly, flashing with a fierce glow. "Senior Brother has neither committed heinous crimes nor slaughtered any innocents. Why have you concluded that his sins are unpardonable? A'Tong wants the Senior Brother, A'Tong is not going back!"

Even though she was severely wounded all over, with her blood dripping onto the ground, she stubbornly pursed her lips and refused to back off even a little.

The crowd of disciples blinked in surprise. Wasn't this girl a fool? But look at her now; she seemed to have regained her sanity.

Could it be... because of that firebird?

What an incredible treasure it must be!

Thinking of this, a pang of greed surged within the crowd.
