Boss-gege Excessive Spoiling - Chapter 29

Arc 1: Part 27

Moreover, compared to the widely known screenwriter Mrs. Zhang, she still preferred her past self as "Great Mango Han".

Even if she was previously dissatisfied with Xi Tong Su, Mrs. Zhang's tone had softened. She tried to maintain a serious expression and asked instead of answering, "Why do you think Ji Bai Zhu was happiest when she died?"

"The Emperor" is adapted from real historical events, telling the story of a young emperor in the Da Kang dynasty who, after being forced to abdicate by powerful court officials, endures hardship and ultimately painstakingly restores his rule.

The original antagonist of the story is Xiao Lingchen, a traitorous official who usurped the throne.

Ji Bai Zhu, the third female character in the story, was based on Xiao Lingchen's younger sister.

Ji Bai Zhu became the empress in the imperial palace but did not receive the love of the emperor. In order to prevent the emperor from assassinating her half-brother Xiao Lingchen, she secretly tipped him off but was discovered by the emperor, resulting in her tragic death.

Not long after Ji Bai Zhu's death, Xiao Lingchen also died from illness. The young emperor seized this opportunity to restore his reign and exterminate the Xiao family, completely destroying them.

This "The Emperor" series is the debut work of Mrs. Zhang. It began as a novel and has now been rewritten as a screenplay.

When she wrote the series, she was young, passionate, impulsive, and full of energy, unwilling to yield to any pressure. Armed with an unyielding spirit, stubbornness, and arrogance.

All the characters in the book are like moths to a flame, utterly disregarding everything for their pursuits. Almost all of them die on their journey, making it a thoroughly tragic story.

She didn't believe that Xi Tong Su would understand it.

What's more strange is that Lan Shuer said that Xi Tong Su couldn't appreciate her work. However, Xi Tong Su now claims to be her fan. How did that happen?

Mrs. Zhang and Director Zhang seemed to have an understanding. Director Zhang nodded slightly and gave a signal to Assistant Director Sun.

Assistant Director Sun immediately dispersed the crowd, not allowing anyone to approach.

Tong Su was completely oblivious to what was happening around her.

After hearing Mrs. Zhang's question, she thought for a moment and hesitated before replying, "I actually think that Ji Bai Zhu loved Xiao Lingchen. But after all, they were... siblings. Given the strict social rules of ancient times, Ji Bai Zhu could only hide and suppress her strong feelings."

Mrs. Zhang paused: "Do you also think Ji Bai Zhu was in love with Xiao Lingchen?"

"Yes! She loved him. Even though he knew nothing about it — protecting her brother, taking care of him, and sacrificing everything for him was Ji Bai Zhu's only wish. When she ultimately died tragically at the hands of an assassin in order to save her brother, she was satisfied as long as she saw Xiao Lingchen finally achieve supreme power and rule the world."

Mrs. Zhang's eyes reflected delight.

This was exactly what she had in mind!

The history of the Xiao family is too legendary, and countless historians and scholars have studied it since ancient times.

Most people believe that Xiao Lingchen's sister helped her brother for the sake of their family.

But Mrs. Zhang thought that the person Empress Xiao truly liked was Xiao Lingchen.

She loved her brother, although there was no blood relationship, but under the strict rules of the time, this love could only result in desperate, fruitless sorrow.

The only thing she could do for her brother was to willingly enter the palace, marry the emperor, sacrifice herself and help Xiao Lingchen.

Due to certain requirements imposed by the Broadcasting Bureau, Mrs. Zhang naturally didn't dare to directly include her own thoughts in the script to ensure it passes review, hence she had to significantly modify it.

For example, the historical Empress Xiao was called Xiao Bai Zhu, while Mrs. Zhang changed her character's surname to "Ji."

"Ji Bai Zhu is not the main female character, she can't even be considered a supporting role. She rarely appears, yet you have seriously pondered her life story. I am truly surprised."

Nowadays, actors are notorious for being increasingly negligent in their work. While acting, some don't even bother to memorize their lines, reciting numbers behind the scenes instead, and relying on voice actors to provide the dialogue for them.

Even Ji Yu, although he recites his own lines, is not very good at it. The production team has already prepared to hire a voice actor for him during post-production.

How can these actors, who don't even recite their own lines, seriously study their characters' lives?

But Xi Tong Su is so dedicated.

Even more attentive than the actors in the production team!
