Boss-gege Excessive Spoiling - Chapter 189

Arc 3: Part 47

However, having said that, Yue Yuan suddenly felt a pang of envy at both the unabashed display of affection and the tinge of jealousy invoking envy among the surrounding singles.

Although he had always been single, it was primarily his own choice to avoid a relationship, not because he couldn't find one.

Yue Yuan was quite popular among female cultivators in the city of independent cultivators.

With his handsome looks, extraordinary elegance, and gentle charisma, coupled with the fact he was Xuan Yan's primary disciple and a cultivator of the Nascent Soul stage, he was indeed a hit among females.

Moreover, his master often dragged him out to entice new disciples using his looks!

Pondering, Yue Yuan thought, if he had a partner, would his master cease to exploit him that way?

He decided right then, as soon as his current tasks were accomplished, he would look for a partner too!

Tong Su was unaware of the damage her public affection display has caused to the singles. At this moment, she was following Tian Xuanzi to the mansion he had purchased in the City of Independent cultivators.

"I have a teacher now. I can live in the alchemy tower or artifact workshop. Houses in the City of Independent Cultivators are very expensive. Why did you spend so much money on this?" Tong Su wondered.

Leaning on the bedpost, Tian Xuanzi replied lazily, "Where should I stay when I come here?"

"In an inn," she answered without hesitation.

Tian Xuanzi gave her a sidelong glance, and Tong Su was bashful. He said, "The small amount of spirit stones for a residence in the city of independent cultivators is nothing I can't afford. Why should I stay in a place I don't know who has lived in before? As for you, A'Tong, the incident before was interrupted, and I haven't properly settled the score with you."

His voice was casual but deep and slightly hoarse, tickling her ears. Trying to appease him, Tong Su grabbed his hand and shook it, saying, "I was in seclusion, wasn't I?"

"Couldn't you have at least informed me before going into seclusion?"

He hummed lightly and with a swift movement of his wrist, Tong Su, unguarded, was pulled towards him. With a surprised cry, she found herself beneath him on the bed as he flipped over, propped himself up on one arm, and looked down at her with a smile on his lips.

Tong Su tensed up nervously, staring into his dark eyes as her heart pounded erratically. She asked in a rush, "What are you doing?"

Tian Xuanzi, much taller than she was, leaned down to press her into the soft mattress, leaving her unable to struggle at all. He held her wrist by the headboard, watching her with a guarded gaze.

He, however, did not proceed with any further unwarranted moves but instead, purified a strand of malevolent energy, cautiously channeling it into her meridians and said, "Don't move, I want to check the progress of your cultivation level."

Now that it was a serious matter, Tong Su didn't dare to fidget. She lay still on the bed, allowing him to probe her meridians, her mind wandering wildly.

His scent was reminiscent of faint, cold winter snow, aloof yet arrogant. Most people may have found this distant and unapproachable, but only she knew that beneath his fierce and unruly exterior, he was truly gentle.

"Senior Brother," she said softly, "why did you take me in as your Junior Sister when you first brought me back to the mountain? Why didn't you take me as your disciple?"

He replied leisurely, "If I had taken you as my disciple, how could I have shown you any affection?"

She didn't know whether to laugh or cry and said, "But back then, I was so young. You couldn't have known we would end up together, could you?"

Tian Xuanzi raised his eyes. His eyes were narrow, sharp, filled with an intense and profound blackness, dangerous and yet alluring all at once. When he set his gaze upon someone, it felt like he could draw them into this abyss, leaving them with palpitations of an inescapable enchantment.

"A'Tong, often there is no clear cut 'knowing' or 'not knowing' in the world of cultivators who defy the heavens and act as they wish. What seems irrational in the eyes of ordinary people, only they themselves know the real truth," he said calmly, "There are certain things you don't understand yet."
