Boss-gege Excessive Spoiling - Chapter 56

Arc 1: Part 54

"What did you say, Ji Yu?"

"What did I say? I said this is all because of you, Lan Shuer! If you hadn't crawled into my bed, would I be having a fallout with Xi Tong Su? If you hadn't interfered, we would still be fine and none of this would have happened!"

"Ji Yu! Has your conscience been eaten by a dog?"

"Get out of my sight!"

The two parted on bad terms.

Although they tried to keep their voices low, the harsh words still echoed far and wide. Everyone in the production team noticed and began whispering to each other.

Ten minutes later, Director Zhang, with a stern face, announced the resumption of filming. This time, Ji Yu and Lan Shuer put in tremendous effort. However, whenever the authoritative gaze of Xi Tong Su swept over them, they stumbled.

The filming continued with difficulty, barely progressing until the night sky hung high. Only then they accomplished a small fraction of the workload that Director Zhang had planned for the morning.

Director Zhang's expression turned increasingly grim.

With such slow filming progress, every wasted minute was burning through their budget. Every day that passed meant less money for the production team.

No one in the team dared to sigh or complain, but dissatisfaction towards Ji Yu and Lan Shuer was visible in their faces.

As soon as the camera was turned off, Xi Tong Su's assistant came in with a few people, smiling.

"Everyone has worked hard today. Miss Xi has prepared late-night snacks for everyone!"

These people were wearing uniforms from a nearby five-star hotel, pushing a small cart filled with multi-layer wooden boxes to keep the food warm, arranged neatly in different categories.

As soon as the lids were opened, a delicious aroma wafted through the air. Indeed, it was a late-night delivery from a five-star hotel, appealing to everyone's senses and making their stomachs rumble.

The production team members stared greedily at the food, then eagerly looked at Director Zhang, waiting for his approval.

Director Zhang frowned and scoffed, "Young people, always wasting resources! These folks would be fine with just some instant noodles to fill their stomachs at night. Why treat them to such delicious food?"

Despite his words, he was the first to approach the cart: "Well, you young people are always dieting. I, as an old man, will take the responsibility of enjoying these delicacies for you. I'll claim these crab roe dumplings and the seafood wontons. Oh, and this bowl of seafood porridge, which Ah Ming loves the most..."

He picked up an entire box of food, and, in front of everyone's stunned eyes, swiftly left the scene.

"Director Zhang, you're something else."

The leading actress, Jiang Shuqi, a first-tier star, couldn't help but smile bitterly. She hadn't started her scenes yet, but she had already joined the production team early to get a sense of the tense atmosphere.

"Thank you, Miss Xi, I'm really hungry tonight. If it wasn't for you, I would probably have to run far to find food!"

She graciously thanked Tong Su, asked a staff member to make her a fresh cherry juice, and asked, “Miss Xi, do you have time tonight? We could discuss the script."

Tong Su remembered her. When she first announced her arrival at the production team on Weibo, Jiang Shuqi was one of the first people to welcome her.

This first-tier actress had a rare good reputation in the industry, no negative rumors, excellent acting skills, good character, willingness to endure hardship, and took good care of her younger generation. Jiang Shuqi had been looking out for Tong Su subtly since Tong Su joined the production team.

Tong Su knew that she wanted to befriend her, and she didn't act arrogantly. After a few laughs, she regretfully declined Jiang Shuqi, merely saying she wanted to rest early. Jiang Shuqi was understanding, so they agreed to meet another day.

As soon as she left the set and returned to the hotel, Tong Su frowned and asked her assistant, "What's the deal with the late-night snack?"

She hadn't instructed her assistant to buy any.

As the elevator doors opened to the floor where their suite was located, the assistant, with a grin, shook her head: "Miss Xi, I won't be going in tonight."

Tong Su blinked, her eyes instantly widened: "Did my brother come!"
