Boss-gege Excessive Spoiling - Chapter 36

Arc 1: Part 34

Filled with resentment, the manager decided that once he returned, he would request the company's executives to terminate his management contract with Lan Shuer.

'Whoever wants to manage Lan Shuer can do it. I've had enough!'

Lan Shuer had no idea that her outburst had disillusioned her last well-intentioned supporter.

Now, she was truly alone, with no one to turn to.

After leaving in anger, the manager bumped into Ji Yu in the elevator. He shot Ji Yu a disgruntled look before leaving with a cold laugh.

Did Lan Shuer actually believe Ji Yu was infatuated with her? That was laughable.

After all, the manager had been in the entertainment industry for years, and had seen all types of people.

The ambition and desire in Ji Yu's eyes could never be satisfied by Lan Shuer alone.

If Lan Shuer saw him as her only lifesaver, she was trying to freeze boiling water or trying to dream during the day - utterly impossible.

What a fool, Lan Shuer was. She had a well-bred, mild-tempered friend like Xi Tong Su — who was both from a good family and truly cared about her — but she neglected her. She was hell-bent on using and scheming against Xi Tong Su. Lan Shuer was truly on the path of self-destruction, and no one could stop her!

There was plenty of time ahead.

She was eager to see.

When would Lan Shuer reach her end!

Inside the room, Lan Shuer was holding in her urge to confront Xi Tong Su. She dialed Ji Yu's number over and over, gritting her teeth in frustration.

Xi Chen Zhao was still in the country, and if the truth came out, it might be troublesome. Feeling guilty, she dared not confront Xi Tong Su, and instead decided to wait for the arrival of Ji Yu.

As long as she succeeded in persuading Ji Yu to run to her aid, she wouldn’t be afraid of Xi Tong Su!

There was a knock at the door. Ji Yu softly called, "Shuer, it's me, open the door."

Lan Shuer quickly rubbed her eyes hard and dropped a couple of fake tears, before going to open the door with red teary eyes.

As the door opened slightly, Ji Yu squeezed in quickly, closing the door tightly. Without taking a breath, he removed his hat, sunglasses, and mask, and questioned, "What happened tonight? Why are you trending on social media? What on earth did you do!?"

As the lead actor, Ji Yu naturally stayed with the crew. However, today, his mother happened to visit him in Hai City, so he took leave from the drama crew and returned home.

He hadn’t been home for an entire night before finding out the mess Lan Shuer had caused.

Lan Shuer sobbed pitifully, looking like a picture of distress. "Don't worry about me," she said, "Let's break up. I can't keep dragging you down. I'll instantly clarify everything on Weibo, I won't let it affect you."

Seeing Lan Shuer's red eyes and her vulnerable figure crumbling under the immense pressure, Ji Yu's strong masculine heart started to soften. Hearing her concern for him even while she was in the eye of the storm pleased him immensely.

His anger quickly faded, and the tension in his voice eased. Frowning, Ji Yu said, "Let's not talk about breaking up for now. Tell me what exactly is going on."

"I… I can't. I can't let them drag you down with me! If they want to harm me, let them. I'm just a solitary person anyway. Even if they trample me into the mud, no one would care! They can't find a way to corner you, and you can get far away from this. I cannot let them hurt you through me!"

Ji Yu's face darkened. "Who wants to harm you? Is it related to what's happening on Weibo? Is this a plot by Xi Tong Su and Liu Ming, the screenwriter?"

Lan Shuer shook her head, crying. Her entire figure seemed pitiful as she trembled and incessantly wiped her tears away. She was too stubborn to explain herself, only managing to speak intermittently in between her sobs.

"I'm an orphan, who would care for me? Tong Su's dislike for me is justified. Ah Yu, I've wronged you all! I shouldn't have fallen in love with you, should not have betrayed our friendship for the sake of love, kept her in the dark about us being together..."
