Boss-gege Excessive Spoiling - Chapter 27

Arc 1: Part 25

Ah Ming was actually Director Zhang's wife, a renowned screenwriter, and the main person in charge of the entire script for "The Emperor."

As they were discussing this, Director Zhang's wife arrived, looking bothered with the script in hand. She overheard his question and cut in, feeling peeved.

"You're talking about it! You only know I deleted that role, but do you know why? I couldn't find a suitable actress to play that younger sister. Rather than letting someone ruin my character, I thought it better to just delete it!"

She was fuming and both Director Zhang and Assistant Director Sun were taken aback as they had not heard about this incident. They instantly proceeded to ask her for details.

Mrs. Zhang recounted the whole event from the start, particularly emphasizing what Lan Shuer had told her.

After hearing her out, Assistant Director Sun commented, “Sister-in-law, isn’t this Xi Tong Su unreasonably arrogant? How could she insult you like this? If she doesn't want to play the role, must her words be so harsh?"

Director Zhang's wife responded sharply, "Exactly, I get angry every time I recall this matter. Even if the character fits her perfectly, with Xi Tong Su rejecting it so dismissively, I absolutely never want to see her again!”

While she was complaining to Assistant Director Sun, Director Zhang frowned.

He somehow felt that something wasn't right.

Just then, the person in charge of managing the extras rushed over with a list, excitedly announcing to the three, "Director Zhang, Director Sun, Madam Liu, we've selected the extras!"

'Madam Liu' was referring to Director Zhang's wife, the scriptwriter. Her maiden name was Liu and everyone on the set respectfully called her "Sister Liu".

Mrs. Zhang responded impatiently, "Why are you so excited about just three extras?"

"You don't know who's among the extras!"

The person in charge had seen a lot in his day, but his current level of excitement indicated that this was no ordinary matter.

Director Zhang and the others were piqued by his enthusiasm. Director Sun asked, "Who has come? Which famous person is signing up as an extra for our drama?"

The person in charge's eyes shone with excitement as he declared, "It's Miss Xi, Xi Tong Su! She's Ji Yu's fiancée!"

Mrs. Zhang's face changed drastically.

"Xi Tong Su? You've actually brought in Xi Tong Su? Little Wang, what are you doing! She is a rich and beautiful lady, how could she be interested in our drama's extras! You must be making this up!"

Even without meeting her, Mrs. Zhang already felt a strong resentment towards Xi Tong Su.

As a well-known screenwriter in the domestic film circle, when any big-name actor met her, wouldn't they always act respectfully, even flattering?

But this Xi Tong Su!

She kindly invited her to play a role, and it was fine that she wasn't interested, but how could she humiliate her like that?

The more Mrs. Zhang thought about it, the angrier she became.

Not far away, a group of extras appeared around a corner.

Everyone around suddenly held their breath.

The extras were visibly nervous and anxious, but amidst the crowd, a smiling young girl stood out, attracting everyone's attention.

Unlike the others, her expression was calm and graceful. She wore a slim-fitting blue dress, which, though simply tailored, showcased her extraordinary beauty.

She reminded one of the first blush of morning sunlight - neither too cold nor too hot - imparting a warmth that was just right.

Mrs. Zhang felt a moment of disbelief — the girl was so similar to the character in her script! If she agreed to play the role, the only regret of the drama would be gone, making it truly perfect…

But the moment of disbelief passed, and Mrs. Zhang's anger flared even more.

Since Xi Tong Su had already belittled her in such a way, why did she join the drama group as an extra today? What was she trying to imply, and who was she trying to humiliate?!
