Three years later, when the mechanical paper crane finally gave a sign that the person had left closed-door cultivation, Elder Xuan couldn't contain his excitement.
"Quick, follow the direction of the mechanical paper crane! You should be able to find her location, right? Go and find her for me!"
Elder Xuan hastily changed his clothes and combed his hair. There was no time for a bath or burning incense; instead, he hurriedly cast hundreds of cleansing spells on himself.
Looking in the mirror, he found his graying hair and wrinkled face unappealing. He rushed to dye his hair black with a medicinal dye and swallowed two pills to rejuvenate his face, which resembled aged orange peel. Then, he prodded his sulky-faced disciple to make himself presentable as well.
Soon, a student from the Communication Hall came out to relay an update. Although they hadn't received a response from that person, the mechanical paper crane's sensed information indicated that she was located not far from the city.
Elder Xuan confidently stepped out the door.
Following the flight path of the mechanical paper crane, they arrived at a rented cave residence for closed-door cultivation just outside the city, surrounded by many people. It seemed like someone had just successfully advanced and left seclusion!
Elder Xuan had a hunch that it was the female cultivator whose name he didn't even know, and he excitedly approached her.
He came across as approachable and friendly. Seeing that the crowd was blocking the way, he didn't ask his disciple to disperse them, but instead curiously stretched his neck to look inside.
His first reaction: wow, at the center of the crowd, there was a pair of stunningly attractive man and woman. Such a feast for the eyes!
His second reaction: the man's cultivation level was peculiar; he couldn't see through it. The woman was young, but she had already advanced to the Golden Core stage — a true genius with great potential!
At the center of the crowd, the female cultivator appeared to be a 16- or 17-year-old girl, dressed in a bright red dress with delicate eyebrows and a beautiful face. She was currently looking down, playing with a communication mirror.
In front of her stood a tall and handsome man, unmatched in beauty, in fluttering black clothes and an extraordinary manner. He also held a communication mirror in his hand and said with a smile, "Look up."
The girl looked up with surprise and immediately showed delight in her eyes. She nearly jumped up and lunged towards him!
"How did you get here?!"
The male cultivator opened his arms wide, allowing her to embrace him fully and laughed heartily, "Why do you think I came here? If not for you, this ungrateful girl."
Apparently, he had come secretly, and the girl had no idea.
Seeing the faint fire-element aura around the girl, she must have advanced successfully, and she was undoubtedly the person Elder Xuan was looking for!
A thought flashed through Elder Xuan's mind.
The man's cultivation level was hidden, and since Elder Xuan couldn't see through it, he was at least a Deity Transformation cultivator.
As for the female cultivator, she was only at the Golden Core stage, which clearly was a significant difference compared to the male cultivator.
Seeing how close they were, it must mean that they were...
Master and disciple!
Elder Xuan was praising his own cleverness.
So he immediately grabbed his oldest disciple's arm, slightly released the intimidating presence of a God Transformation cultivator to part the crowd, and squeezed in with a smile.
"Hello, fellow Daoist. I am Xuan Yan, an Elder from the Alchemy Tower. I noticed this young girl behind you has an extraordinary aura and possesses an unusual fire-element. She must be a promising talent in alchemy!"
Upon hearing this, the girl in the red dress and the man in the black clothes both turned around. The girl's eyes were shining brightly, obviously curious and delighted, while the man slightly squinted his eyes, displaying an unfathomable expression.
People around took a sharp intake of breath and gradually retreated, exclaiming, "The Alchemy Ancestor Xuan Yan! It's actually Elder Xuan Yan!"
"Why is Elder Xuan Yan here?"
"It seems he has spotted a promising talent in alchemy. I told you that female cultivator had exceptional talent. Even Elder Xuan has taken an interest!"
Xuan Yan, the Pill Ancestor, said happily, "As you heard, I unashamedly announce that I am quite proficient in alchemy. This young girl here, truly caught my eye. However, it wouldn't be right to snatch a disciple from a fellow Daoist. What if you look at my oldest disciple? How about we establish a kinship?"
