Boss-gege Excessive Spoiling - Chapter 83

Arc 2: Part 4

Tong Su: "..."

Tong Su said coldly, "Have you caught a virus?"

The system cried out, "QQ - ow!"

"Enough whimpering. Give me that godly chef card I drew from the beginner's pack. I need it."

"Godly chef card? Miss, what do you need that for? Right now, we should be figuring out how to get back to the Xiao Mansion and complete our tasks!"

"There's no rush. If my guess is right, I won't be staying here for long. Someone is more anxious than me, wanting anxiously to get me back to Taifu's mansion."

Tong Su leisurely sat down again on a rock, choosing to use the godly chef card. The palm-sized card transformed into a clear light and flowed into her forehead.

Immediately, her mind filled with recipe after recipe. Her hands seemed to become lighter and stronger, naturally taking on exquisite knife skills.

The system read out:

"Godly Chef Card: Condenses the skills of a top chef's lifetime.

Upon use, the recipient gains access to the chef's private recipes and knife handling capabilities.

Time limit of one world."

Tong Su couldn't help but feel lucky to have drawn such a handy card.

Xiao Bai Zhu is a talented chef. If she didn't have this card, she would probably be exposed the minute she entered the kitchen.

Xiao Qingwan and Xiao Bai Zhu, sisters from the same mother, Madam Ji, trace their origins to a humble kitchen mother who struggled to raise her two daughters alone after being widowed for many years.

She accidentally crossed paths with the father of Xiao Lingchen. The two rapidly fell in love, and for the sake of her daughters' future, Madam Ji eventually agreed to marry into the Xiao family.

Xiao Lingchen's father was a high-ranking official of the court and his principal wife had been dead for many years. Xiao Lingchen had no objections to having a stepmother. So, Mr. Xiao became the head of the family and wrote the sisters into the Xiao family genealogy, changing their surname to Xiao.

Xiao Qingwan had no interest in cooking, so Madam Ji passed down all of her culinary skills to Xiao Bai Zhu. On ordinary days, Bai Zhu would cook delicious food in her small kitchen and the family of five would happily enjoy their meals together, living a blissful and contented life.

This blissful life ended abruptly with the sudden deaths of Mr. Xiao and Madam Ji.

The sudden death of this high-ranking official shook the court, and the Emperor urgently summoned Xiao Lingchen back to the capital to serve in the government.

Ambitious Xiao Lingchen entered the imperial court and climbed the ranks. With the help of his late father's old acquaintances, he quickly gained the trust of the old Emperor and rose rapidly in rank.

Before the old Emperor passed away, he even appointed Xiao Lingchen as the youngest mentor for the young Emperor.

At just 26 years old, Xiao Lingchen is now the Taifu, holding immense power and influence. Consequently, his stepsisters have become ladies of a prestigious family.  (Note: 太傅 [tàifù] = Grand Tutor)

—— However, Xiao Qingwan.

Under the so-called "protection" of her prestigious sister, the obscure Xiao Bai Zhu was confined within the residence and never set foot outside. Even the noble ladies in the capital were unaware of her existence.

Xiao Lingchen developed anorexia in the year that his father and stepmother passed away.

Perhaps because Bai Zhu's culinary skills were passed down by her mother, Xiao Lingchen, unable to stomach even the most exotic delicacies, would only reluctantly eat food prepared by Bai Zhu. Accordingly, he was always eager to protect her.

After being reborn, Xiao Qingwan was well aware of this and couldn't wait to take advantage of it. However, she was too lazy and lacked the innate talent needed to learn cooking.

After thinking it through, Xiao Qingwan came up with a brilliant idea.

She would have Xiao Bai Zhu cook in her place!

By wearing the kitchen attire and headscarf, and the two sisters already looking identical, no one would know who was actually working hard to prepare the meals in the kitchen.

After all, she would be the one carrying the food box out of the kitchen; who would suspect that she wasn't the real cook?

Thus, Xiao Qingwan stole Xiao Bai Zhu's credit and, relying on the power of the Taifu's residence, gained fame among the noble ladies in the capital, reveling in her success and glory.

Meanwhile, Bai Zhu, whom she had bullied and deliberately molded into a timid and submissive character, didn't even harbor thoughts of resistance.

Now, Xiao Qingwan was preparing to squeeze every last drop of blood from Bai Zhu before having her silenced, leaving her with a tragic ending and a restless spirit!
