Arc 1: Part 69
After returning from washing her hands, Lan Shuer became increasingly eager to persuade Tong Su to eat and drink.
Tong Su shook her head, gripping the can of cola in her hand, and inserted a straw into it. She listened absentmindedly to Lan Shuer and Ji Yu's repentance.
"Tong Su, we know we've done many wrongs, and your anger is justified. We were blinded by greed. It really wasn't intentional. Can you please forgive us?"
Even though the plea seemed sincere, Tong Su noticed that Lan Shuer's apology was somewhat insincere.
Her hands tightly gripped her thighs, and her body leaned forward. Her gaze frequently fell on the can of cola in Tong Su's hand, as if it didn't matter.
Especially when Tong Su bit on the straw and took two sips, Lan Shuer's eyes flashed with barely contained excitement.
"Alright, I understand your intentions," Tong Su said as she stood up, her face cold and indifferent. "Ji Yu, Lan Shuer, I won't accept your apology. You brought the ruin of your reputations upon yourselves. I never intentionally tarnished your names. You two can't continue like this in our circle. Leave as soon as possible and don't appear before me again. If you do, I'll be more than willing to forgive and forget. But..."
Her voice suddenly became somber, "If you still don't get it, then I have no choice but to give you a taste of your own medicine."
Ji Yu and Lan Shuer felt a tightening in their chest.
Facing them, Xi Tong Su stood casually. There was even a slight curve at the corner of her lips. Nonetheless, they found her presence profoundly intimidating at this moment.
Her clear eyes seemed to contain a chilly warning, sharp enough to see through all their internal scheming!
"You... what are you talking about? We certainly won't," Lan Shuer put on a brave face, reaching out to take the can of cola from Tong Su's hands. "Tong Su, give me the can. I'll throw out these rubbish items together."
Tong Su casually nodded, about to hand her the can, when it slipped from her grip, spilling the cola all over her!
"Oh no! Tong Su!"
"How could you be so careless?"
"Tsk." Tong Su sidestepped their outstretched hands, frowned, grabbed a few tissues and patted herself dry. She muttered unhappily, "This coat is ruined. I'll have to throw it away when I get home."
Looking up at them, she said, "I'm leaving first. You two better leave soon, too. I'll change the apartment's locks. Ji Yu, you should not come here in the future."
Tong Su left without offering Lan Shuer and Ji Yu the chance to stop her. She walked off briskly.
Her car was parked downstairs, and she was soon driving away.
Ji Yu, hidden behind the balcony curtains, watched Tong Su leave. "She's gone, apparently she didn't suspect us," he immediately reported.
Lan Shuer was holding the cola can, looking peeved. "It all spilled on her clothes, there's no way to determine how much she drank."
"She must have drunk it," Ji Yu pondered, "Her straw is opaque, but I saw bubbles rising. She must have swallowed it. No matter how much she consumed, as long as she drank, she is not getting away!"
Lan Shuer narrowed her eyes and nodded agreeably.
Where was the regret and sincerity she demonstrated earlier during the apology?
Her lovely face was filled with resentment, much like a venomous snake hidden in a filthy swamp, ready to sink its poisonous fangs deep into its enemy's flesh!
Three days later, a piece of news shocked the entire city.
"Recently, scandal-ridden film star Ji Yu and model Lan Shuer have officially reported Xi Tong Su, the heiress of Xi's Zsun Group and Ji Yu's ex-fiancée, for drug possession and illicit activities. The police, having received the report, discovered a small quantity of drugs at the reported person's apartment. The reported individual was promptly detained and awaits further testing and analysis."
