Arc 1: Part 47
Behind Director Zhang, one could vaguely see many crew members peeking and whispering to each other.
"Director Zhang? How did you get here? When did you arrive?"
Ji Yu was taken aback. He quickly put on a smile and eagerly greeted the director.
Director Zhang glanced at him, huffed, and said with an unclear tone, "Just now. How could I not hear your argument? Ji Yu, what's going on? How could you be so rough with your fiancée!"
Ji Yu laughed it off, "We just had a little disagreement, some normal argument, nothing serious. I'm sorry for making you worry." He turned around and looked warningly at Tong Su, "Tong Su, right? Don't forget what I told you!"
Tong Su curled her lips coldly, "Don't worry, I remember everything very, very clearly."
Ji Yu didn't think much about Tong Su's tone, assuming she was just sulking.
Previously, he had lost his temper with Tong Su and almost resorted to violence to intimidate her. But now that Director Zhang was here, no matter how displeased he was with Tong Su, he had to suppress it, almost to the point of causing internal injuries.
Coming here tonight, he not only completely fell out with Tong Su but also got nothing good out of it!
He initially planned to threaten Tong Su to post on social media to whitewash his reputation, but he didn't succeed. Instead, he became a joke to the crew members following Director Zhang.
What was Director Zhang doing wandering around? The soundproofing in the hotel is excellent; could he really have heard the argument?
It must have been intentional!
Ji Yu really didn't know which god Tong Su had pleased. These past couple of months, he had been running into problems at every turn, all due to her.
The more Ji Yu thought, the more aggrieved he felt. After saying a few words to Director Zhang, he sullenly left with Lan Shuer. Before he left, he said to Director Zhang, "Director Zhang, I was impulsive tonight, but if word of this gets out, it won't be good for the crew either, right?"
His intention was to get an assurance from Director Zhang that the crew members would be forbidden from letting the incident go public.
Director Zhang responded noncommittally. Ji Yu felt relieved and left with the visibly upset Lan Shuer. Director Zhang waved his hand and gestured for the people who had followed him to leave.
After everyone had left, the shaken assistant said to Tong Su, "Miss Xi, should we hire a bodyguard? Looking at Ji Yu, I fear he might hold a grudge against you!"
Tong Su laughed, "Hire a bodyguard? We're safe in Director Zhang's crew, hiring a bodyguard would be a joke. Besides, what danger could there be? Even if Ji Yu and I have a falling out, Director Zhang is still here. What could he do?"
She thanked Director Zhang for coming at the last minute that night, but he said, "Miss Xi, the person you should thank is not me."
Tong Su was taken aback.
Director Zhang spoke meaningfully: "After all, the soundproofing of the hotel is excellent, and I’m not even on the same floor as you. How could I possibly hear the noise and come over? But, it's quite late tonight. You should rest early because you're the main character tomorrow morning."
He had purposefully sent everyone else away, intending to stay behind just to say this. After saying it, he waved his hand and left.
The assistant asked in confusion, "Miss Xi, what is going on?"
Tong Su shook her head, indicating that she was unsure. The assistant frustratedly said, "Such an injustice for you to go through tonight. Where did Ji Yu get the guts to disrespect you like this?"
"Injustice? I wouldn't say that."
Tong Su gave a sly smile and waved a finger, then turned and went back to the sofa to pick up her casually discarded phone.
The phone screen was brightly lit.
The assistant's mouth dropped open in surprise, and when she took a closer look, she was overjoyed.
"That's great, he wouldn't have expected you to be this prepared, Miss Xi!"
On the screen was clearly a recording page!
