Boss-gege Excessive Spoiling - Chapter 102

Arc 2: Part 23

Cut the dragon herbs, red dates, goji berries, and fresh ginger and set them aside. After boiling off the blood from the mutton, steam everything together for an hour. Upon lifting the lid, the sense of aroma fills the air.

The soup's color is a creamy white, devoid of any unpleasant smell and incredibly delicious.

Tong Su nodded in satisfaction and carefully poured the soup into a rice box. She added a side dish of chopped green onions and a combination of salt and pepper.

She had learned from the steward that Xiao Lingchen would come back today but wasn't sure when. So, she started stewing the soup in the morning, which happened to be ready just in time.

Actually, bumping into Xiao Lingchen outside was purely a coincidence. She was merely delivering lamb soup to everyone.

Ever since she started using her God Chef card and learning cooking skills, Tong Su had developed a fondness for the kitchen. The joy of having her painstakingly prepared dishes appreciated and cherished felt fantastic!

It was similar to the sensation she felt when the movie she starred in was successfully screened and critically acclaimed in her previous life — a sense of fulfillment derived from one's existence.

The techniques granted by the card could only be used in this world and purchasing another card for 10,000 points seemed too expensive.

Tong Su didn't want to give up, she had a plan.

She could permanently memorize the recipes, and with constant practice, her mastery over knife skills would become second nature. That way, no matter which world she went to or what new body she took, her culinary skills would always remain deep within her bones.

However, Tong Su didn't get to move.

Xiao Qingwan rushed over after hearing the news.

"Did you see my brother? Didn't I warn you not to see him? How dare you disobey me?"

Xiao Qingwan kicked open the kitchen door, her face distorted with rage, and started accusing.

Thanks to her extensive network in the mansion, she was informed about her brother's return. She had just managed to arrive here in the nick of time.

Tong Su put down the food box and said, "Sister, what do you want?"

"Give me the food box; I'll go for you!"

Xiao Qingwan had long harbored the desire to visit Xiao Lingchen's courtyard. If she could uncover some secret, it would be even better.

The Winter Hunt was approaching, and Emperor Xuanyi would undoubtedly return. Xiao Qingwan was planning to have Xiao Lingchen bring her along. Then, she could meet the Emperor Xuanyi — her face hardened as she thought about her plan.

In her previous life, wasn't her downfall due to her status? Now that Xiao Lingchen would choose someone to enter the palace and marry Emperor Xuanyi to become the Empress, she must seize this opportunity at all costs!

Who could be more foolish than Xiao Bai Zhu? Having become the queen, she had sacrificed herself for the Xiao family. How ridiculous!

As a member of a prestigious family, ascending to the Golden Palace, entering the Jade Hall, and ruling over the world — that was the life she longed for!

A frenzy appeared in her eyes, and without any more discussion, she reached out to snatch the food box: "Hurry, give me the food box! I'll go for you!"

"Aren't you afraid of exposure?"

Xiao Qingwan hesitated for a moment, but her desire and greed overwhelmed her reason and caution. She quickly retorted, "Fear? What fear? Being overly cautious will never lead to success! Mind your own business; can't I do it as well as you?"

Xiao Qingwan had prepared many identical clothes for the two of them so that they could switch identities easily.

Now, with identical makeup, clothing, hairstyle, and jewelry, Xiao Qingwan didn't believe Xiao Lingchen could detect any difference.

Tong Su gently shook her head, not stopping her anymore, and quickly changed clothes with her. Before leaving, she whispered a soft laugh.

"If that's what you want, then... may you succeed."

Xiao Qingwan, holding the food box, swaggered out the door.

Xiao Lingchen's main courtyard was in the center of the entire Xiao Mansion, the courtyard door was wide open, and no one was guarding it. Xiao Qingwan carried the food box, sneaking glances to the left and right as she slipped in.

She noticed a room full of books with its door seemingly unlocked, and she was about to sneak in.

Suddenly, a cold voice shouted from behind: "Who are you? How did you get in?"
